I am a type1 diabetic and have been for 30yrs,my blood results r showing high potassium,can anyone please tell me more about this...cause.meds,risks etc

I know certain medications can cause high potassium. Some blood pressure meds will do that. I recommend checking out any pills you are taking with your doctor, or webmd.com.

Excess potassium is usually excreted by the kidneys... while an apparent excess of potassium in the blood can occur if you are constantly clenching and unclenching your fist while blood is being drawn, the most common reason is decreased kidney function.

Because you state you have been living with D for 30 years, I would suggest asking your doctor about your kidney functions.
