My name is Katie, and I am addicted to Insulin.
I was dxd 15 years ago, Oct 22, 1992. D is a b***h at times, but we all do what we gotta do!
I live in Melbourne Australia, and have amazing friends both here, and in this amazing diabetes OC that we are all a part of.
Hiya DTF!!!
I'm linking up from TD and am excited to meet more new and interesting people who all have something in common. So far I'm keeping my odds in check from getting type2 and I'm hoping to stay motivated to do so. Gotta admit though it's not easy, you would think it would be but nope it's not.
But I'm staying positive and finding ways to channel my energies into more positive ventures. See you on the boards :~}
Hi
I was told that I have Diabetes at the end of June of this year. I kind of knew that it was coming but when it did I didn't know what to eat. All through I have changed my diet to meats and vegetables cut out all wheat I still am not sure about food. I have a meter and I don't eat anything without testing it first to see how it effects my BS. I would like to talk to other people with Diatetes to see how they are doing and what are they eating.

My name is Rebecca, and I recently moved to Texas. I'm nineteen and have been a type 1 diabetic for thirteen years. I am currently attending college at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. I am studying German, Spanish, and Pre-Med. I have had a Deltec Cozmo insulin pump for a little over four years. Everyone think I want to be an Endocrinologist or Diabetologist, when they find out I'm diabetic and planning to become a doctor, but I really want to be a Neurosurgeon. I'm very careful to not let diabetes hold me back, but sometimes I"m afraid it will make it harder to become a doctor.
Hi! I am Carol and live in Memphis, TN. I work as a medical transcription supervisor for a large healthcare corporation. I have a husband of 32 years and a yorkie that tries to rule my life. I was diagnosed with type 2 just 23 days ago, so I am still trying to sort everything out. Went in for a physical and my BS was 126 and I have high triglycerides, so MD wanted a fasting glucose tolerance test (thought I was probably prediabetic). Had the test and the numbers came back high enough to classify as diabetes type 2. I was surprised, shaken, mad, etc. but know how I deal with this early on will determine how this developes in the future. Right now I am able to use diet and exercise for control and am working on weight loss. I know this is a longterm process and appreciate any support I get.
I'm Angela. 21 Years old and live in Alabama with my husband, dog, and two cats. And my cousin. She just moved in with us! I was diagnosed with Type 2 in Feb2007. I was on several different pills like amaryl, glucophage, avandia, and nothing was working. Then a couple of weeks ago, my sugars went from being in the 200s to staying 400 - 500+. Had my levels checked again and I actually had stopped producing insulin. I then started taking Lantus at night with am amaryl and actos. Still was staying high in the day so yesterday he switched me to humalog at night and in the morning. I know nothing about insulin...? :) Hoping to get some motivation for managing my diabetes and also some knowledge!
