Here is the scoop on me.
Well I was diagnosed with Type 1 on November 25, 2000 and I was 25. It is a hard struggle every day but, I am trying to get through with the support of family, friends and people like YOU!
I love meeting new people and finding out what makes them tick. I can talk in instant messages for hours with my partner
Jon about anything. He is my online BFF (best friend forever).
Other random things about me are that I love to draw & paint. I went to school for Fine Arts and my minor was computer graphics. I work in Manhattan for a publishing company where I am the art director for one of the magazines. Which means that I layout the pages and do all the art work and front pages. It is a lot of fun and can at times be very stressful (not good for blood sugar). But the cool part is we always get it done! And it is very rewarding when the magazine comes out and it looks great because you sit back realizing how hard you and your team worked on it. Such a great feeling.
Oh yea the best random rant of all is that next year I am getting married to the best guy ever and I wish the wedding was tomorrow. He helps me so much with all this diabetes crap. Really I don't know how he puts up with my mood swings and lows and just being a woman in general ahaha. Patience of a saint I guess. haha
Anyway, that is a little glimpse of what I am about. What ABOUT YOU.

Ahhhha! OK! Thanks for that update...I couldn't figure out why I couldn't find the "comments" and wondered if I was totally missing or just not seeing something...
:-)
The fact that I can set my own schedule is allowing me to go back to school and get retrained in a field other than software test engineering, as I have been disabled out of that field. I did my first quarter back to school and just got grades on Thursday. I earned a 4.0 in both my classes (one of them math). Go me.
I spent an awful lot of time studying while connected up to the machine at night. Dialysis sucks a lot but at least I could use some of that time productively.
Now I'm helping to organize a rally for single payer health care at the end of June, as well as getting prepared for summer session, which starts on Monday.
I can't seem to see the comments that are posted on my profile....I would love to be able to view them and talk to others-HELP!

In regards to diabetes and celiac, I wish I could attend the chat, but my husband and I will be at an event. It's also his B-day that evening. Will there be a copy of a transcript?
Also, replacing fat with heavier muscle is never a bad thing.. 100% good stuff.. Muscle burns more calories just sitting around being muscle, and even more when being used..
Ivan!
Adjusting to NH well. Winters are very rough but the other seasons are beautiful. Restoring our farmhouse ... how about you?
Your long lost friend,
Donna (the one that moved up to NH - remember me? Originally in Suffolk County????)
