Yes, I find it challenging to balance diabetes and raising my kids. Especially when my diabetes spills out and inconveniences their lives. I wrote about one activity where a low totally spoiled it (http://www.diabetesdaily.com/johnson/2009/05/interruptions-at-the-rookery.php).

My doctor explained it as a shot that gets rid of your apetite... I only took ten units before meals and I could hardly eat two eggs and a piece of sausage, I'm also petite so I'm smaller but he explained to me that other people taking it had to take 20 or 30 units. It's basically a shot to decrease food intake which means less insulin fo you to put into your body

Yes, I do find it hard sometimes to deal with raising a family and dealing with the big D. Lows are tough, but I also struggle with highs as I often get a bit moody and irritable. Another hard thing is when I've measured out some food and then my kiddos want to share.
