What is your blood sugar right now?: 128

What was your funniest diabetic moment? If you never had a low, tell us something funny that happend to you.: fell asleep in a bowl of cereal...woke me up quickly with a face full of milk! Milk up my nose! I could have drowned...

What is your favorite snack to treat a low?: snickers, seriously, raspberry glucose tabs. I do LOVE candy corn and cherry sours...even if they ARE colored with carmine, which is actually cochineal larvae....

What kind of treatment are you on?: paradigm pump Apidra Insulin

How did you find us?: Switched over from the old site.

I haven't been here for awhile, and I've missed it. It's wonderful to be able to upload photos. And it's so easy as well! I'm doing good. I have to really keep an eye on my feet, because I've developed hammer toes (3) on my left foot.
I wear special shoes, because surgery is not an option, being a long term diabetic. But, hey! I have been able to experience more than I ever dreamed possible. Grandchildren, travel, what could be better?

Back from beautiful Thailand!!!

We had a great time! I have no idea how to put up photos on this site anymore, or I would. Since we returned, Judah had his first birthday party in our home :-) and my hubby went to the hospital for gallbladder surgery. :-( He just got home today, the kids and grandkids are here, and he is doing well.

Thailand

We are leaving on our 17 hour flight Tuesday, June 10. We should be back mid July. Preparing for this adventure has been an experience. My husband retired and our insurance changed June 1st. It has been a challenge trying to get two months of medications, which equal to 10, insulin, pump supplies, and test strips. we had to pay for most of it up front (over $1,000) and get reimbursed for 80%, in 5 weeks. Retirement Surprise Party!

My three daughter's threw a Surprise Retirement Party for my husband. My oldest daughter and family drove in. My youngest flew in from Thailand! My middle daughter and family are close by. He thought everyone came to see our youngest, Nicole, who is here for a week. First, we had a family portrait taken. Little Saoirse is too cute, being soo new. At 6:54pm on August 23, 2008, Betty J said…: Wasn't aware that quinine was no longer available. When I use to have leg cramps years ago I was told that magnesium and calcium was good for leg cramps and it did help.

I tried therapy which is exercising, which I do every day when I can, it doesn't relieve the pain. There's also cortisone shots which we know will cause another burden...fighting high bs. I'm on pain killers which were recently changed. So I'll continue with pain killers which helps at times. Thank you for your concern Susan.
