We are leaving on our 17 hour flight Tuesday, June 10. We should be back mid July. Preparing for this adventure has been an experience. My husband retired and our insurance changed June 1st. It has been a challenge trying to get two months of medications, which equal to 10, insulin, pump supplies, and test strips. we had to pay for most of it up front (over $1,000) and get reimbursed for 80%, in 5 weeks. I picked up doctor prescribed shoes that gave me a blister, while wearing socks. Now I have…

My three daughter's threw a Surprise Retirement Party for my husband. My oldest daughter and family drove in. My youngest flew in from Thailand! My middle daughter and family are close by. He thought everyone came to see our youngest, Nicole, who is here for a week. First, we had a family portrait taken. Little Saoirse is too cute, being soo new. Judah, who is easy to get to smile, was serious because the photographer was counting. Hey! You've got to be serious sometime! Counting is serious stuf…

I have been gone for three weeks, visiting my daughter and family in the beautiful mountains, where they live. it snowed when I got there. The rest of the time it was sunny. They have breathtaking views from their home. The Easter Bunny came to visit (My grandson, Judah, dressed as a bunny, which was too funny) I had a wonderful time.

I'm back!!!!! I kinda had a problem........well a pretty big one..........my computer busted right after Christmas and I just now got a new one. Please e-mail me back soon! By the way I have another granddaughter now her name Savannah Nichole and she was born on April 21st this year at 9 pounds 8 ozs. A BIG girl!!!
Your daughter is a belly dancer. I love belly dancing!!!! I think it's amazing. My sister and i are trying to book in for lessons, i'd say it's not easy though, does your daughter enjoy it?
Yes, my husband is from El Salvador, where is your hubby from?
I'm like you, i also think that the touch of Spanish makes my kids adorable. They have taken most of their daddy's features and look a lot more like him than me, which, i'm actually quite happy about.
I'm sure you're doing great and enjoying everyday with your grandkids more and more.
Things are well here. Monica(daughter) had a chest infection and is all better and back at school and even though she was unwell her levels have been great. Usually when she's unwell her levels are all over the place. Monica's little brother, Juan, is very cheeky and is asking me to play outside with him and our dogs right this minute and I shouldn't say asking, it's more of a demand. He's been quite a handful lately, it's his age, he skipped the terrible two's and i'm getting the terrible 3 and a half's instead haha. I'd better go and take him outside. I'll keep in touch.

Wow, you just sound as though you are so happy, that's fantastic. I love your photos, just gorgeous children. I bet you are a great grandma!!!
You must be pretty anxious to see your daughter in Thailand. How long has she been living over there? You must miss her a whole heap.
It's great to hear so many positives and that you are really loving life.
My little one has just started school and is doing really well, it's a huge adjustment, but things are running smoothly. She started on her pump about 4 months ago and we are still getting used to it, but love it. Her levels have been great and she is a very happy little girl. Her HbA1c has gone down and since her levels have been so much better with the pump, i have seen a great change in her, she seems so much happier and the pump allows her more freedom, and it gives me more peace of mind, i'm so happy. I think back to not so long ago when she was having 3-4 insulin injections a day, i don't know how she or i did it, and to see how she is now just puts a huge smile on my face :)
Well take care Susan and thankyou for you lovely comments on the photo.
